Frederic Raphael used the title Glittering Prizes for his series of six self-contained plays with more than a touch of irony. Some of the prizes on offer in the middle of the twentieth century turned out to be much less than golden.
Frederic Raphael's tales portray the hopes and frustrations of an entire generation through the experiences of a group of friends who meet at Cambridge University in the 1950s. lom Conti and Barbara Kellerman lead an outstanding ensemble cast in the six 80-minute episodes that follow the evolution of these privileged, idealistic college students through the turbulent 1960s and into the 1970s. They all struggle with emotional disillusionment and varying levels of worldly success.
Contemporary issues of the time - sexual politics, abortion, class, religion, racism, homosexuality, the ascendency of the media, yob culture, the erosion of pre-war values and the legacy of fascism are all explored in this sumptuous and rewarding series.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
