Sam Peckinpah, best known for his classic The Wild Bunch, tells another story of soul-searching men in need of a definitive moral compass. In this his first feature, a young boy dies from a bullet meant for an outlaw. A former Army officer pulled the trigger. He escorts the boy's widowed mother through precarious territory in order to dignify the death with a proper burial.
Told against the dusty region of Apache Indian country, their procession faces a looming threat of danger. During their journey, the officer and the boy's mother develop an implicit bond of solidarity that grows with each instance of danger.
A rugged little film that earmarked Sam Peckinpah as a new directorial voice in the Western film genre. Peckinpah opts for extended use of the medium shot, subverting the traditional notion that each Western must be framed in wide angles. This tactic (tighter focus on the actor) conveys a subtle, first-rate intimacy with character.
The Deadly Companions garners strength from its absence of hero-worship, casting a universal humanity that's readily identifiable within each character.

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
