The fighting takes place on a 2D plane but special attacks will cause the screen to contort into a 3D perspective for nifty visual theatrics. The default game mode is called "Yggdrasil Mode" where each character goes through a brand new story where he/she meets up with various adversaries and battles them in one-on-one battles. The "Multiplayer Mode" allows up to four players to engage each other wirelessly in a PSP battle royale and the "2D Battle Mode" features super-deformed renditions of the characters in a simplified fighting game.
(テイルズ オブ バーサス, Teirusu Obu Bāsasu) (pronounced as "Tales of Versus") is a crossover fighting game featuring various characters across the Tales video game series. It was developed by Matrix Software and published by Namco Bandai Games for the PlayStation Portable on August 6, 2009 in Japan.
