godfather sets out to adopt her - until he learns he's not the only one determined

to keep the adorable youngster.

Curly top

Shirley Temple was never sweeter than in this musical version of Daddy Long

Legs. When Edward Morgan John Boles), the rich trustee of an orphanage,

first meets little Elizabeth (Temple) and her older sister Mary, he is entranced

and adopts them for an imaginary benefactor. Though both girls come to adore

Edward, Mary falls in love with him, unaware that he feels the same about her.

So it's up to Elizabeth to play matchmaker!

Dimples

Shirley Temple sings and dances her way from poverty to stardom in this

delightful old fashioned musical comedy. Little Dimples sings for money in the

Bowery while her thieving grandfather (Frank Morgan) pickpockets the crowd

she attracts. When she is adopted by a society lady, she is discovered and lands

the role of Little Eva in a production of Uncle Tom's Cabin.

Heidi

When her aunt tires of caring for her, orphan Heidi is taken into the Swiss mountains

to live with her great grandfather Jean Hersholy), a hermit who comes to adore her.

But the aunt returns, stealing Heidi and selling her to a family whose invalid daughter

needs a companion. Heidi charms the entire houschold but never stops trying to

return to her beloved grandfather.
