In the autumn of 1893. hunter and amateur naturalist Ernest
Thompson Seton rode into New Mexico to wipe out cattle killing wolves. His mission turned into a battle of wits between himself and one particular wolf called Lobo. And, although he finally succeeded in his task, his understanding of the animal's intelligence, loyalty and warmth changed the man forever.
With dramatic early film footage and archive photographs, this film tells the story of the American expansion, the conquering of a wilderness and settling of the west. And, in the true story of a unique meeting of man and animal, it re-creates Seton's epic battle with Lobo - and what happened next.
