Good Move! is a special program

designed to dazzle you with the magic

of chess. It will show you the essential

patterns and rules you need to know in

order to play a good game and, it's

hoped, inspire you to learn more.

Good Move! is based on the idea that

it is easier to see a demonstration of

an idea than read about it in a book

and so, unlike the traditional method

of learning chess, it uses a database

of hundreds of small movies - movies

which show on a graphics board what

to look for and what to play. The

movies are arranged in lesson sets

and cover most aspects of the game,

from

the absolute beginner level

through to that for an expert

Good Move! is a special chess teaching program designed specifically for schools and

students. Its database of 750 graphic movies is organised into lesson sets ranging

from Absolute beginner to Expert level. The movies can be selected with just a click

of the mouse and provide a comprehensive and elegant introduction to all the key rules

and ideas of the game. Good Move! provides schools and homes with an instant expert

on topics such as 'En Passant', 'Castling', 'X-rays', 'Zugzwang', 'The Opposition' and

much, much more. There is a particular emphasis on patterns and creativity.

The movies run on average for 3-

4 minutes and students (aged 7 to

70!) can work through the lessons

at their own pace, ticking off the

movies as they go. Most topics

include a quiz and students can

record and check their answers.
