Fullmetal Alchemist: Dream Carnival is the first Fullmetal Alchemist fighting game for the PlayStation 2 and is the second Fullmetal Alchemist video game for the PlayStation 2. It was released in Japan in 2004, but was never translated or sold in North America or Europe.
Every four years, a magnificent festival takes place where folks near and far gather together to party, mingle, and be merry. The main event however is a fighting tournament where the best brawlers bout it out in tag-team fashion.
Join the Elric brothers and other key characters from the Full Metal Alchemist franchise and fight in 2-on-2 tag-team cel-shaded battles. Along with innate physical prowess, combatants may use special items as well as alchemy based attacks to gain the upper hand. Stages consist of highly detailed sets taken from the animation including a city scene where the food station (with wooden stools in front of it) from the original episode is featured prominently.
Full Metal Alchemist: Dream Carnival is a 2 VS 2 tag team fighting game, featuring large fighting stages with multiple panes similar to Naruto: Narutimet Hero. Each character can execute various special attacks, alchemy attacks and dual attacks. You can pick up various items on the stage and turn them into different kinds of weapon or projectile weapon with alchemy.
The battle stages are divided into 3 types:
Basic Type - with multiple panes, you can move to different panes to attack or evade enemy attacks
Gimmick Type - there are interactive objects and traps in the stages, you lose HPs when hit by obstacles or traps. For example, in a train station stage, you lose a large amount of hit points if you hit by the moving trains. The third stage type of stage will be revealed in future.

GAME MODES:
- Scenario Mode: One player only mode
- Arcade Mode: For one or two players mode,team mpde (1p -4p), battle royale (1p -4p) and arcade data (Check your ranks) When trying to level up characters in arcade mode, when you complete it, the game will let you save your team. Do so,and next time you play, load them fromthe green button tot he bottom right of the P1 picture. This will allow you to increase your rank with more completions.
- Training
- Alchemy Screen: Choose and item with circle, and press start to transmute it alone, or choose a second with circle and transmute them together. This will unlock CG extras, voices, and special ones will unlock new difficulties and secret levels.
