The Embertec SmartSwitch™ is a standby power controller that automatically shuts down audio visual and computer based appliances that are wasting power – and money – when they are not being used, and turns them back on when they are needed.

The Embertec SmartSwitch™ saves power and money by shutting down audio visual appliances and computer peripherals when they aren’t being used. The Embertec SmartSwitch™ AV is for audio visual appliances and the Embertec SmartSwitch™ PC is for computer environments.
As an intuitive device that reduces both standby and active power wastage, it produces maximum savings with zero effort – switching off appliances that aren’t being used, and switching them back on again when they’re needed.
It works with all existing audio visual and computer environments and complements any existing surge protection with additional surge protection.
In addition, the Embertec SmartSwitch™ AV is equipped with a unique MusicMode™ feature. This feature overrides the power down process for a period of 8 hours. This feature is great for playing music, parties, and video nights or any time when equipment needs to be kept on for an extended period of time. The Embertec SmartSwitch™ AV reverts to its previous power down timer setting after the 8 hour period or after a power down has occurred.
How to use
The Embertec SmartSwitch™ can be used with all audio visual and computer based equipment.
Plug audio visual equipment that can automatically be switched off – such as TVs, DVD players and stereos – into the ‘Power Saver’ socket of the Embertec SmartSwitch™ AV. Plug audio visual equipment that requires constant power for cool down periods, timers, program guides and recording features into the ‘Always On’ socket. Then plug into a power point and switch it on.
Then set the SmartSensor™, which allows you to set a time period of 1, 2, 3 or 8 hours before your audio visual equipment will be powered down if not in use.
The Embertec SmartSwitch™ PC is for computer based appliances. Plug computers or laptops into the ‘Computer Only’ socket and plug computer peripherals such as monitors, printers and scanners into the ‘Power Saver’ socket. Then plug into a power point and switch it on.
The Embertec SmartSwitch™ installation process is quick and easy and you’ll start saving power and money immediately.

Our team aim to pack, check and dispatch orders within 24 hours of receiving your order Monday to Friday. Where an order is placed after 2pm AEST on Friday it may not be dispatched until Monday. During the Christmas holiday season, orders may take more than 24 hours before dispatch.
Overseas deliveries leave our warehouse every Wednesday.
We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
To start a return, you can contact us at info@retrounit.com.au. If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.
