TO END ALL WARS

Based on the memoirs of Captain Emest Gordon, To End All Wars recounts the experiences of a disparate band of

battle-weary World War I Allied soldiers, plunged into the brutal terror of a Japanese POW camp. Forced to build a

railroad through the jungles of Burma and Thailand, the men are driven to revenge, escape and self-preservation. Their

captors, cruel head guard Ito (Sake Kimura) and his perpetually drunken superior Captain Noguchi (Masayuki Yui),

treat all acts of insubordination with brutal retaliation. Gordon (Ciaran McMenamin) establishes a "jungle university*

where Plato, Shakespeare and the bible provide an ethical basis for their harsh existence. Gordon's superior officer, lan

Campbell (Robert Carlyle, Trainspotting), scoffs at the increasingly pacificist bent of Gordon's teaching. Jim Reardon

(Kiefer Sutherland, 24), a lone American running a black market, is equally skeptical. But under the relentless brutality

of the camp, the only way for the soldiers to survive is to find what gives their lives meaning. To End All Wars is a

harowing search into the soul of humanity and the human capacity for forgiveness.

UNDER HEAVY FIRE

From the Director of Boys in Company C" and starring Casper Van Dien (Captain Ramsey) comes a hard fought drama

about Echo Company, one of the hardest hit American units of the Vietnam War. Kathleen Martin (Carre Otis). A TV

journalist is assigned on location to Vietnam to cover the reunion of Echo Company as they revisit old battlefields

Kathleen's documentary gets off to a rocky start when it is revealed that pt. Ramsey was accused of providing wrong

bombing coordinates causing the deaths of his own men.

GARRISON

After returning home from the war SGT. Daniel McManus spends his days training the next round of new recruits, and

his nights haunted by feverish dreams of a war he can't escape. When McManus is informed that his squad leader and

friend SSG. Cross has gone AW.O.L., he is given only 48 hours to find him and bring him safely back within the walls

of the Garrison. As McManus searches for Cross it becomes increasingly apparent that his friend has gone insane and

that unless McManus finds Cross the unimaginable will happen. Soon McManus starts to unravel a mystery that has its

origins in a war he thought he had left behind.

LANGUAGE OF THE ENEMY

An American Jewish businessman travels to Israel for the funeral of his father, who has been killed in a bus bombing. While

there, he is persuaded to do a brief reconnaissance for the Israeli Secret Service inside the city of Ramallah. However.

the assignment goes awry and the American Jew finds himself trapped behind enemy lines with a mysterious, beautiful

Palestinian woman. As he fights to save his life, the American Jew is forced to re-examine his own world view, as well as

those of the Palestinian woman (a Christian Arab) and her grandfather (a Muslim). But can he really trust them? And can

they trust him?

FAREWELL TO THE KING

Nick Nolte (Cape Fear) stars as Learoyd, a renegade US soldier who escapes execution by the Japanese during WWII

and flees deep into the jungles of Borneo where he becomes an all-powerful tribal king. Like Marion Brand's Kurtz in

Apocalypse Now, Note's Learoyd rules happily over his jungle utopia until discovered by a group of commandos - led by

Nigel Havers (Empire Of The Sun). Determined to protect the innocence of his people, Leanoyd rejects attempts to enlist

his tribesmen in the war against the Japanese; however, when his village is finally attacked, "The King", in true Rambo

style, embarks on a vengeful trail of destruction.
